Mobile Ladies Hairdressing in Peterborough

Jo Baldwin, Mobile Ladies Hairdressing, Peterborough – Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most common questions I have been asked in my career, which I have answered as honestly as I can. If you have any other questions however, please email me and I will add them to the list if they are suitable.

Q. Why should I use a mobile hairdresser?
A. Mobile hairdressing is perfect for all kinds of people but especially those who have young children and worry about child care and for the elderly who have difficulty leaving their home. You also have a much more personal service on a one-to-one basis, so you get to know each other more personally which can only improve your haircut. I work hours to suit my clients so there is no need to squeeze a salon appointment in during your lunch.

Q. What are the benefits of using a mobile hairdresser rather than visiting a salon?
A. As a mobile hairdresser, I come to you! This saves from driving to and from a salon, saving you petrol and parking charges. You won’t ruin your new hairstyle in the wind and rain on the your way home from the salon. Using mobile hairdressing services is a more personal one-to-one service, which means the customer to hairdresser relationship becomes closer.

Q. Isn't it more expensive to use a mobile hairdresser?
A. Absolutely not! All of my clients have commented on the savings they have made whilst using my services over salon prices. When you factor in petrol and parking charges also, the savings increase even further.

Q. Is it safe to have chemicals used in my home?
A. I have over 25 years experience working safely in both salons and on my own and I would say I probably have more experience that most salon based hairdressers, so using the chemicals and colours in your home is perfectly safe.

Q. How frequently should I have my hair cut?
A. Everyone's hair grows at different speeds, but on average, most of my clients book every six weeks.

Q. What haircare and styling products do you recommend I use to keep my hair in good condition?
A. This depends on the type, colour and condition of your hair, but I use Matrix products myself regularly as they have a full range to suit all types of hair.

Q. I am trying to grow my hair but keep getting split ends. How can I stop this happening?
A. Even though you are growing your hair it is very important to continue to trim your hair to stop split ends from occurring. Instead of the usual six weeks I would recommend regular smalls trim every two to three weeks and this will minimise the damage split ends can cause and maximise growth.

Q. How do you keep up to date with current trends and fashions when you do not work in a salon?
A. I am constantly looking out for new hairdressing courses, which keep me current and well informed.

Q. How can I get the most out of my mobile hairstyling experience with you?
A. Communication is key. As with many different aspects of life, if you talk to one another, potential problems can be worked out before they occur. If you are not happy with your cut or colour tell me and I will do my very best to resolve it.

Q. When I show a photograph of a hairstyle I like to my current hairdresser, why do I not end up looking like it?
A. Unfortunately, everyone's hair is different, with growth patterns, hair density and hair type all factors in the end product. Whilst I do my best to achieve the required style, the initial consultation will reveal any potential difficulties. On many occasions I will use two or three different photos to determine the best style for the clients face shape and hair type.
